Dr. Jonathan Mines is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced training in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal and vitreous diseases. He specializes in caring for patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, retinal tears and detachments, and other complex retinal conditions.
Dr. Mines completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He went on to earn his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, New York. He then pursued a fellowship in Retina and Vitreous Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he trained in the latest surgical techniques and advanced imaging technologies for retinal care.
Dr. Mines is dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based treatment and helping patients preserve and restore their vision. He is committed to staying at the forefront of innovation in retinal care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mines actively volunteers with the Good Samaritan Health Clinic and supports the Pinellas County Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired, helping improve vision care access for the local community.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mines enjoys writing, fishing, landscaping, tennis, water sports, golf, travel, and reading.
