Jason Handza, DO is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in treating all medical and surgical retinal disease and laser surgery. This includes diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments. He has delivered specialty eye care in Florida since 2004, and currently provides care to patients in St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park and Trinity.
Dr. Handza is also at the forefront of clinical research as the principal investigator in multiple research studies to treat macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He regularly lectures about the most recent advances in ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Osteopathic Academy of Ophthalmology.
