Dr. J. Kevin Belville is a board-certified ophthalmologist with decades of experience and an international reputation for excellence in cataract surgery and the treatment of eye diseases. Known for his precision, warmth, and personalized care, Dr. Belville is committed to delivering advanced surgical solutions tailored to each patient’s unique vision and lifestyle needs.
Dr. Belville earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Cornell Medical Center in New York City, where he served as Chief Resident. He then pursued advanced fellowship training through the ORBIS program in New York and the Dubroff Eye Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland.
A passionate educator and humanitarian, Dr. Belville served as Medical Director for ORBIS International, a flying eye hospital providing advanced eye care and surgical training around the world. In this role, he led teaching missions in multiple countries, helping local surgeons master the latest techniques in eye surgery. He also established a free eye hospital in the Caribbean, which continues to serve the community today.
Dr. Belville is an Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA, where he has been an adjunct instructor for over 20 years, mentoring the next generation of ophthalmologists. He has authored two textbooks on advanced eye surgery, further contributing to the field through scholarly work and education.
As a leader in cataract surgery, Dr. Belville is certified in the latest innovations, including premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract techniques. Personal Life & Interests:
Outside of medicine, Dr. Belville enjoys time with his family and Bible study. An avid adventurer, he has scuba dived around the world, skied for over 50 years, run marathons, and played tennis most of his life—all while maintaining a daily fitness routine.
