Erick Abreu OD

Erick C. Abreu, OD, is a bilingual optometrist with experience providing comprehensive eye care to both adults and children. His clinical interests include ocular disease management, specialty contact lenses, and comprehensive vision care, with a focus on helping patients protect their eye health and achieve their best possible vision.

Dr. Abreu believes great eye care starts with understanding each patient’s individual needs. He takes the time to listen to his patients and is committed to providing personalized, up-to-date care while making sure they feel comfortable and supported throughout their experience. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Abreu is also able to communicate with many patients in their preferred language, helping create a more personal and comfortable care experience.

For Dr. Abreu, one of the most rewarding aspects of optometry is seeing how better vision can directly improve a patient’s quality of life. From reading and driving to working and spending time with family, he understands the important role vision plays in everyday life and enjoys helping patients find solutions that allow them to see and function at their best.

Dr. Abreu has experience managing a wide range of ocular conditions and fitting soft, rigid gas permeable (RGP), scleral, and other specialty contact lenses. His clinical training also included ocular disease management, low vision care, corneal disease and specialty contact lenses, and binocular vision. During his training at Aran Eye Associates, he received an award for excellence in the management of ocular disease.

Dr. Abreu earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Barry University before earning both his Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from Nova Southeastern University.

Outside of the office, Dr. Abreu enjoys spending time with his family and two young children, being outdoors, and cooking—although he admits doing the dishes afterward is not his favorite part.
